User experience

With a new level of precision and relevance comes new possiblities to create great interactive and graphical user interfaces

As much as the internet is fantastic there is still a lot to do when it comes to user experience. For example, recommendations are not like the ones we get in physical stores and interactive advice and consultative selling are simply not available online at all. With our new powerful software this can all change.

We like to think that our benchmark is a real sales person and our goal is to be even better. This is a lofty goal, not possible in all cases, but in many it is. That means that we want to get the user experience as close to the experience you get when interacting with a real person given the constraints and possibilities with a computer or device interface. We want to make it possible to interact with the solution, for it to understand you and to offer the best possible user experience.

Hardware is becoming more powerful all the time making better experiences possible. Mobile devices and tablets offer especially interesting opportunities as they offer a very tactile and graphical user experience. It is simple to create visually great interfaces that are simple to interact with, interfaces where it is fun to search and discover.

Interaction

The whole experience of the solution is important, from how to interact with it to making the solution understand what the customer needs and wants, all the way to how the end result is displayed.

As a solution made with the Expertmaker platform can handle very high complexity, it is possible to capture a lot more information from the user, implicitly or explicitly. This is essential in order to give precise and relevant results. The process of capturing information from the customer can for example be similar to how a sales person finds out what the customer wants.

In the example to the right Pasta explorer uses a graphical interface for quickly capturing a lot of information about what the customer is looking for. They use the inherent capabilities of the touchscreen making the experience very user friendly and fast.

The app uses graphical symbols to make it easy for users to quickly get an overview of what they care about. It also uses sliders that make it easy and fast to express taste and needs.

Graphical results

As the results have very high precision it is also possible to offer results in a different way to what is current online. You can for example display the results in a visual way. It is even possible to express them in a multidimensional space.

In the example to the right Bookdesire use a graphical interface to capture information from the user and to display the result. In this case they use a two dimensional display model. The results in the top left corner are the best matches to the user requirements while the bottom right corner is further away from the desired requirements and offer much more discovery.
